In April 2003 the "Associazione Culturale Leãozinho" was founded in Rome in order to help young Brazilians coming from poor areas, to get the chance to improve their knowledge, giving free courses, especially in Informatics subjects, languages and music.

The Association was born from the will and ideas of Edoardo Pompei and Giancarlo Angelucci, and is now supported by many associates as volunteers.

It was named "Leãozinho" (which means "little lion") after a song by the great brazilian singer Caetano Veloso, and it stands for the strength, braveness and pride of our little brazilian lions, who are just waiting for the chance to show their capabilities.
